About Me

Background in Education
My name is Amber Young, and I currently serve as an Education Specialist for Academics and Instructional Technology with the Windham School District in East Texas. Since joining WSD in 2019, I have supported campuses, teachers, and instructional leaders across the region. I began my career in education as a 6th grade World Cultures teacher at Huntsville Intermediate School. My classroom experience strengthened my passion for student-centered learning, technology integration, and high-quality professional development. During those years, I learned from strong mentors who modeled best practices and inspired my commitment to continuous improvement.
Transition to Instructional Technology
When I transitioned to Windham, I first served as an Evaluation Coordinator in Operational Support, where I assisted with districtwide data analysis, evaluation systems, and reporting structures. That experience strengthened my skills in assessment, accountability, and data-driven decision-making, all of which influence the work I do today.
Current Role and Impact
In my current role, I collaborate with a team of specialists to provide instructional technology support, professional development, and academic guidance to teachers. Together, we work to empower educators, strengthen instructional practices, and expand meaningful learning opportunities for the students we serve.
What Drives My Work
I am passionate about innovative technology, equitable access, and supporting teachers as they build confidence in their classrooms. This work reinforces the impact that intentional leadership, strong partnerships, and ongoing learning can have in education. At the core of my work is a commitment to supporting teachers in ways that are practical, meaningful, and sustainable.
